    Shawwal, the tenth month in the Hijri calendar and the Javanese calendar. On the 1st of Shawwal, Muslims celebrate the feast of Eid al-Fitr in celebration after undergoing fasting in the month of Ramadan. Shawwal according to root mean ride, light, or bring (contain).     The first day of Shawwal is Eid al-Fitr for Muslims after the fasting in the month of Ramadan. The next few days in the month of Shawwal it is an opportunity to 'tune' fasting Ramadan with more fasting for six days in the month of Shawwal. With the addition where the Muslims can earn reward that equivalent to fasting for one year.

    Abu Ayyub Al Anshori, Rosululloh said, "Whoever fasted in the month of Ramadan then fasting for six days in the month of Shawwal, he is like fasting the whole year." (Narrated by Muslim no. 1164).

    Syawal is also the start of the early months of pilgrimage, because since this is allowed intend to perform the hajj pilgrimage. Performed Umrah during this month can also be combined with pilgrimage in the month of Dhu al-Hijjah to become the Hajj al-Tamattu.
